I've been needing to do some video editing recently and I have no video editor. I'm looking for something that has the same interface as Windows Movie Maker. If not, better. And of course a program that won't crash as often as WMM. I just want something simple. I'm not looking for anything that will have hundreds of effects(for now). I want something that, at the least, will slice video clips and let me add audio to it. Also, it would be nice to know of a program that can do video editing like... Like, the 300 PG trailer. Stuff like that.

Any help will do, thanks!

then thats something among the lines of kdenlive or cinelerra.
For light weight video editing also try avidemux.
They are all open source apps and are in the repos so you can install each and give them a whirl see which one is for you.

i am by no means a professional but when I want to mess around with stuff I use cinelerra. The interface isnt exactly the most intiative but it is a powerful application if you can get used to it.
