Hello all,

This is my second day of using Ubuntu, and I just installed something called KAddressBook as a proposed solution to my last thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=803761). Now I have a new problem: I can't find it!

Specifically, I installed it via Applications -> Add/Remove programs. And indeed, that tells me that the program is still installed! How can I now find it, and more importantly, add it to my applications menu?

Also, following the advice on this webpage (http://monkeyblog.org/ubuntu/installing/#where_did_it_go), I then installed menu-xdg. It didn't fix the problem. Should I now de-install that?

thanks so much,

Nate

You may just have to enable it in the menu editor.
System->System Admin->Menu Editor (going from memory...at work now)

Or "alacarte" from the command line.

I installed a few things that I think I had to go enable in menu editor before they showed up.

Sweet! It works - Thank you both! As soon as I figure out how to thank both of you (give me a few minutes - this is also the first forum I've done anything on), I'll do it.

Yea!! My first official "I helped somebody". :)

I'm new to Ubuntu (and Linux in general) too. Just installed it a week or so ago.

Thats the real beauty of this forum. you feel great helping others. I'm thinking of dropping my blog and just helping out here in my free time. It's extremely rewarding.
