Hello all this is a bit more light hearted but basically I've set up my server with Samba, Lamp, aMule, Torrentflux, (almost) Sftp and a website ti access it all and I'm loving it.
Since I recieved my ubuntu disk from canonical my friends have are wondering where I am these days lol.
It's set up to run most stuff with web guis such as webmin (need to set up remote desktop next) and will eventually be headless.
Now I've got the bug I'm wondering how far I can take my little home server project. For example I have cctv on my house can I rig this up for automatic recording and deleting after say 30 days? What about hooking up my living room tv and all the other tv's and stereos?
Having comms to each room so I can press a button on a mike and speak to someone in a different room? (putting a box in each room is fine)
Setting up a voip and getting rid of the landline?
I once seen some windows software designed for home 'management'there must be other stuff you can do

I want add some more bells an whistles! There must be loads to do lets have some ideas.

Cheers

That Linuxmce looks amazing I will definitely try that, it's a big project doing that. I love the idea of using cheap pocket pcs ad remotes. I have a few of them lying around
