mouse problem: two scroll wheels, one extra button on thumb

hi, i just pick up a mouse in the garbage site :) it has two scroll wheels - one for horizontal and one for vertical - and an extra buuton on the thumb. it works but the horizontal wheel only scroll vertically, and the thumb button works as a middle button. how can i enable these two extra buttons? my original mouse only has one scroll wheel. thanks!

You might want to give btnx a try. It's not in the repos, but source can be downloaded here (http://www.ollisalonen.com/btnx/). It did wonders for my mouse.

i install it and the revoco settings are disable.
it is an A4-Tech WWW-9 mechanic mouse. the horizontal wheel scroll vertically and the scrolling speed of the vertical wheel is slow.

After you've got btnx installed, you need to run the config-program Applications > System Tools > btnx. It needs to test your mouse, so do everything the program tells you (it's pretty straight forward), and after that you can assign specific commands to each of your mouse-buttons, provided they got identified during the testing.

Okay, can't you just set it to the key-commands you need (left. right)? I'm not sure, since I don't have a horizontal wheel, I just used btnx to get my extra buttons to work.

Hi folks,

I have an A4 four way scroll mouse which was totally ignored by Hardy, so I reverted to a Genius Netscroll PS2. This works fine out of the box but not the scroll wheel bit.

So I would like guidance on drivers for both these please
