I only have about 6 days with ubuntu 8.04, kernel 2.6.24-16generic (first time with ubunut!), and like 2 days ago i tested my webcam with cheese, it worked, a little bit slow but at least it worked. This night i wanted to use it again or test it to use it with aMSN, when i see a video like the one in "hardware testing" instead of the webcam capture (using cheese). With camorama i get this error "could not connect to video device (/dev/video0) Please check connection" when this happens, the blue led blinks.

any help will be gladly appreciated
sorry if this issue has already an answer, I search but i didnt find anything, and I didnt wanted to post in already sovled threads.

You may have to work with the settings > Open Ekiga > Edit > Preferences > Video > Video Devices > try changing some of the settings.( Video Plugin if it shows V4L change to V4L2) if working with the settings does not work or help.
Post the results of the command > lsusb
