Kubuntu the worst linux OS for me.I have been using ubuntu since 7.04. I have installed Kubuntu yesterday to know how KDE works. It was the worst thing i have done in my computer. I cant easily find where is the apps , how to change panel size and many more. i ll never use kubuntu again in my life.

Press the K button in the lower left corner that pops up a menu of the applications? Not sure whats so hard about that.
The other options you mention are in the control center or kcontrol.
Its very easy to make changes on the KDE desktop. That being said Kubuntu is not a very good example of a kde distro. There are many other better looking KDE distros.

It takes some getting used to if you are coming from a Gnome DE. If you tried the KDE 4 Remix version I can understand there being some confusion as KDE 4 still needs work.
Some people will swear by Gnome and others will do the same with KDE. I use them both and they both have their strengths and weaknesses. Use whichever one suits you.

Sounds like an "issue" with KDE's design approach, not with Kubuntu. :)

If Kubuntu used Synaptic instead of it's present package manger, I would be cool with Kubuntu.
Call me stuck in my old ways, but I just can't seem to figure it out.
I find the simplicity of Synaptic and apt-get the best for me.

this kinda like saying that windows is better because I know how to work with it and i know how it looks.
if you change DE there is bound to be a learning curve. As such you can't really add a value of goof of bad to it.
I dislike KDE as well, but I know that if i use it for some time I will find my way around.

Adept Package Manager is the same thing. The only difference I find is that instead of having to click the search option, a place to type what you want to search is built into the main window.
KDE has more features than Gnome (both graphically and overall) so it's a bit more advanced, but it's a little like Windows in how things are placed by default(it even has a "Control Panel"). Of course I am referring to KDE 3.5, I haven't tried KDE 4.
Simply put, if you really like a simple, consistant desktop enviroment, go with Ubuntu. If you want something with more room for change (if you like to rearrange things exactly the way you want them) and like having lots of features to play with, use Kubuntu.
I am a KDE fan. There are just some things about it that I don't get from Gnome.

If you don't like it, don't use it. It's certainly not KDE's fault for not suiting you.
As for Synaptic, just install it and knock yourself out. :>

OP has tested it for a few months, like most windows people test linux for a few months.
NOT :lolflag:
Just stay where you came from and don't try to learn and research something.

Why do people make so many of these threads?
"heigh i tried kde and it sux"
Cool, why should we care? Use whatever DE/WM you like then. (btw, I don't use KDE, but I think it'sa good DE, and so is GNOME).

He did say "for me" -- it's in the title of the thread. So obviously, he does know it is an opinion what he says. So would you, if you had read the title instead of calling him a "nOOb". ;)

Erm...what's so different with changing the size of the panel? In Gnome:
Right click panel >> Properties >> Size - Choose number of pixels
In KDE:
Right click panel >> Panel properties (not on KDE...something like that). Then choose the size of the panel. Tiny, small, normal, huge or custom, where you can choose the size of the panel in pixels. To be honest KDE gives more customization. Like if I forget how big the Gnome panel is...how do I remember that it's 24px? KDE gives you nice defaults to change to :)
So Gnome is much more "simple" and KDE is much more easy to customize. KDE gives you more options to configure, Gnome tries to hide more options.
By the way, if you didn't notice, I prefer KDE, but I'm using Gnome at the moment ;)

I was ALWAYS a KDE user in the past, from KDE 1 and up to 3+
I'd never really used Linux as my only OS though, only dabbled on and off over the last 9 or 10 years or so. Never liked Gnome in the past, it seemed to have odd ways of doing things.
Having not used Linux for about 2 years I decided this year to make the switch for good this time, seeing as all my reasons for ever switching back to windows were gone :)
Anyway I installed ubuntu 7.10 on a spare PC to check I coudl do everything I needed (I could) then on my main PC installed Hardy beta (yeah..start on the edge with a beta release :D)
After using it for a while I came to like the current version of gnome (last time I tried gnome was on Red Hat Linux 5 or 6..something like that..before they concentrated on Enterprise and Fedora ) I actually ended up installing the Kubuntu Desktop packages as well, and yet still carried on using Gnome (and uninstalling the Kubuntu packages), as that is what I am now used to.
Yes, the whole point of this rambling post is just to say...It's just what you are used to!
If you've always used Gnome, you will struggle with KDE at first, but if you struggle on, you'll eventually get used to it. I like both KDE and Gnome, but in all honesty, I prefer Gnome these days..not because it is 'better' but because it's what I am used to these days despite always being a KDE fan in the past.
Personally I've been tempted to give e17 a try, but there's no real reason for it, it's just wanting a new toy to play with :D

Don't use it then.
I've only ever played with Gnome, am a KDE man but NOT 4.* Synaptic, just install it if that's all that's keeping you back.....

The K Desktop Environment works somewhat differently than Gnome, which works differently from the Windows and Mac environments. You can't expect to move from one to another without a learning curve.
What you may have forgotten is that, when you first started using Gnome, you didn't know where anything was, either. You had to learn. Once you became comfortable with the "Gnome way," it seemed logical and "intuitive." When you then switched to another environment, it seemed clunky and difficult by comparison. The same thing would have happened if you'd started with KDE and then moved to Gnome.
Give yourself time to learn and you'll find that KDE actually has some very nice features that Gnome lacks. And it's just as "intuitive," just in a different way.

i like both, i have kubuntu kde4 installed at the moment, so that i could have a play around with kde 4 (although i mostly use fluxbox anyway...).
i have the fedora 9 live cd in my cd drive too (looks good from the five minutes i've spent playing with it).

My least favourite part of KDE is konqueror. It sorts numerical titles alphabetically, so for my textbooks on CD, all the pages are out of order.

+1. That's the only thing I've ever liked about Nautilus. I wonder what Dolphin does? [will check in the morning]

That's why we use Linux - we have choices - use what you like, and don't use what you don't like!
