hello, new torrentflux user here. the speeds are much slower when compared to utorrent on a windows box on the same network. some torrents are getting 4-5KB/s and only max out at about 100-200KB/s. is there a default setting slowing it down? utorrent is getting 1-2MB/s. my method of install was apt-get.

i already modified it so that it uses encryption at all times with a howto on this forum, there must be something else.

Do you have uTorrent configured to use encryption at all times as well?

If not, you may just not have that many encrypted peers in the swarms you are connecting to.

i'm downloading hardy 8.04 torrents (which have hundreds of seeds) at 150KB/s :( I have a 15mbit download, there is no reason for that. i could wget them faster!

edit: the same torrent on a wireless vista laptop is getting 2MB/s

i tried torrentflux-b4rt, i immediately saw an improvement in speed. then i compiled transmission for it to use as a client and i'm maxing out. yay.

i may post a howto, i dunno why one isn't posted yet..
