I've got a couple questions about Cedege, first is Point2Play included in Cedega? Second, do you need to have the Windows games already installed on another drive in order to play them or can you install them directly onto your Ubuntu box using Cedega. Are there any good HOWTOs on setting up Cedega on Ubuntu and installing games?

- Point2Play is included if you buy their service
- either way, you can install them through Point2Play or just run them with cedega
- there are a few, but setup of cedega is real easy. If you buy the support and dl the latest Point2Play package, just run:

sudo dpkg -i point2play-xx-whatever.deb

and it will install. There is a script to install cedega from CVS but it dosnt always work. Once you have point2play it should be in the menus somewhere, so start it up. Run the tests, and then install cedega through it. Then, read their forums about setting up games.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe these are my options for gaming on Ubuntu...

1. Buy Point2Play from Transgaming and I can use it to install Cedega.
2. Attempt to build Cedega from CVS...

Is there no way to build Point2Play and Cedega from CVS?

No, Point2Play is a service to those who buy it. $5 each month, though the first time you pay for the first 3 month ($15). Thereafter you can simple terminate the subscribtion and point2play and cedega still works, but you'll not be able to get the updates anymore.

$5 isn't much in my humble opinion if you look what people are willing to pay for playing one account on a MMORPG game ($12-15 each per month), plus you get the influence which games Cedega shall support in the future (you get votes point), plus it's so easy to setup. You can run multiply cedega versions in Point2Play with one click. Sometimes a game work in one cedega version and in some it won't works. That's smart :)
