Hi

I have some problems using GTKWifi, it won't connect to my AP (D-Link 624+) from my HP nx9105 laptop with an builtin Broadcom 4306 wireless adapter (configured with the evil ndiswrapper).

When I start GTKWifi with "gtkwifi run-in-window" then I get the following messages:

user@nx9105:~$ gtkwifi run-in-window
FF:00:FF:00:FF:00 / managed
Warning: Unknown AP mode on network 'athome' (00:11:95:09:FD:62)
Warning: Unknown AP mode on network 'athome' (00:11:95:09:FD:62)

/bin/sh: line 1: 18164 Terminated dhclient "wlan0" 2>&1 >>/dev/nullWarning: Unknown AP mode on network 'athome' (00:11:95:09:FD:62)
Warning: Unknown AP mode on network 'athome' (00:11:95:09:FD:62)
Warning: Unknown AP mode on network 'athome' (00:11:95:09:FD:62)

(GTKWifi:18130): Bonobo-WARNING **: Never got frame, control died - abnormal exit condition
/bin/sh: line 1: 18261 Terminated dhclient "wlan0" 2>&1 >>/dev/null

It does find my network, and will also let me type in a WEP key for it. But it doesn't get a IP address through DHCP. The program also appears very sluggish.

What does "Unknown AP mode on network" mean?

If I setup my wireless network through Ubuntus builtin Networking, then it works.

Any ideas?

it seems that ndiswrapper is not getting the router mode at all.

please post the output of sudo iwlist DEVICE scan

Don't bother about the warnings you get.
Try to set the key index in your router to "1".
Thas seems to be the problem... and if that doesn't work , if you have the wep set to restricted on the router set it to Open.

Let me know what happens.
I'm addressing the key index problem as i usually connect to a key index 2 network.
