Hello, I have been using ubuntu for a bout 2 months now. I just recently started having a really random problem. While using open office, I noticed that it will not create a capital "c" with the shift key. The only way that it will create a capital "c" is with the caps lock key. It makes every other capital letter with the shift key. It is really baffling me, and I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem. I am running 8.04 on an hp dv6000, dual booted with Windows failsta.

I'm totally guessing, but this may be a step in the right direction - perhaps Shift+C keycombo has been accidentally mapped to some function in OO? Have you tried typing capital C in another program?

Ditto the above, it shouldn't be a problem with openoffice, but the combo might be keymapped in OO, your OS, or somewhere else. :)

Doh! thats probably it. I think I set shift+c to activate a some worthless effect that I was messing with. Thanks a lot, much appreciated
