OK...so I have an HP 2410 PSC (all-in-one) which installed some print driver during the Ubuntu installation.

I tried to print a web page today through Firefox. It appeared to start printing OK, but ran out of paper mid way through. I put more paper in printer and let it continue, and it took a LONG time before it started back up (like 20 minutes).

When it did start back up, it appeared to print some more of the page(s), but stopped before completion and then printed about 5 pages of garbage.

Ideas?

Secondly.....where would I look to find a more thorough driver? If none exist, any pointers to how I might start writing my own driver? It might be fun as I am an software developer and have done some drivers in the past for Windows and/or embedded systems.

THIS (http://www.freeos.com/articles/2677/) may help about writing drivers.
THIS ONE ALSO (http://developer.axis.com/old/documentation/old/software/linux/device_drivers-howto.html) (more in depth)
