Off Center Log On Screen!

Hi

One of my last problems with Hardy; minor but irritating!

Text is very large, as if the logon screen was say 640x480 (my screen resolution is actually 1280x1024) and text is off center down towards the bottom right of the screen.

Any ideas?

Type this into a terminal window:

sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Then copy and paste the files contents into a reply here.

Also, what's the make and model of your computer monitor?

I had this issue too, do as diablo75 suggests and lets go from there.

Getting similar here, with off-centre login screen and also off-centre NVidia splash screen. Also on Samsung monitor - Syncmaster 244T 24" at 1920x1200. Currently having separate problem configuring my screen, but will try the fix in this thread when I get sorted out and report back if it works for me!

Alas, the fix didn't work for me on my Samsung Syncmaster 244T - Virtual already set correctly to 1920 1200. Login box is offset maybe 10% to the right, its not a lot but its noticeable...
