Difficulty opening an application

Hello everyone,

I tried to search for information about this problem, but I wasn't able to find anything that addressed this embarrassingly simple question...

I installed an application for an infrared remote controller and set it up right after installation. However, I need to change a few options and I can't seem to open the application again.

It's not in the application list, and I tried re-installing it hoping it would open on its own again, but no luck!

Any help would be appreciated.

What is the name of it? Try typing it into terminal and see if it comes up.

Sorry, another beginner question coming up... How would I do that? I believe the applications name is lirc, but that's all I know.

Go over to Applications > Accessories and you'll see Terminal. Click on that. When the window pops up, type in lirc and hit enter.

I got it to open once, more, but now the launcher I created with it no longer wants to work! This application is awfully stubborn! Well thank you for your help, I'll try and play with it some more in hopes of getting some sort of reaction from it.
