1. Read this: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/iso

2. If drivers exist for Linux, then yes. The latest Ubuntu (8.04 / Hardy) is up-to-date as of a couple of months, so should work with most hardware.

3. Depends on: broadband or dial-up; wired, USB or wifi; networking hardware; router.... (but probably plug in and open Firefox browser)

For burning the iso, you could use Infrarecorder (http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/) (Free and Open source) or ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) (freeware).

Ubuntu normally automatically installs the drivers you need, or asks you if you want to install them if they are "Non-Open" drivers.

As long as you get drivers for your network card working, and have an internet connection, Ubuntu should be able to connect to the internet automatically.
