When I play music either through rhythmbox or vlc it plays at not at the usual A note = 440Hz but A = 430Hz.. I only noticed this as I play guitar, and its really rather annoying as I have to tune my guitar to 430Hz in order to play when I'm on ubuntu. I'm new to ubuntu so I don't know how to check my hardware, but I think I'm using some kind of SoundMAX card or something, and I'm on an Alienware m9700 laptop.

Thanks,
Ollie.
