Doom3 patch installation

I have the patch on my desktop...


doom3-linux-1.3.1302.x86.run

I dont know what to do with it?
can anyone helpo..

Doom3 is installed and works but sound is broken so im trying to install this patch.....

./doom3-linux-1.3.1302.x86.run

i did that and it installed...

I tried to play and its still the same...And in updates it still says 1.3 available.....?

I dont think it installed in the right place..
There is a doom3 folder in my /home folder now? wasnt there before..
the origional doom3 folder is still in /usr/local/games.......

Do i have to copy the pak006.pk4....etc.. files
to the origional base file..?
I havd to do this with the first 4 pak files just to get the game to run.....

there are game files in the new folder too..?

sounds like you originally installed the game using sudo, so you'd have to do the same with the patch if you want it to patch the original directory.

I got it figured out..
thanx seethru...

end up The patch had punkbusters included and now my cd key doesnt work.....
I will have to uninstall the game now..
which i have never done before..ill have to learn sometime though.....

just delete the directory, and the .doom3 directory in your home folder.
