How about a space between # and join? Maybe you should use a real irc client like xchat?

Don't forget about puctuation! That was really hard to read!
Can you please restate your problem?

I don't really care much for Pigin as an IRC client. Try XChat (http://www.xchat.org/).
Also, regarding XChat, I registered my nickname and, whenever I connect to XChat, it displays this:
-NickServ- This nickname is owned by someone else
-NickServ- If this is your nickname, type /msg NickServ IDENTIFY <password>
* Found your IP: [65.95.246.124]
* Unknown MODE flag
Is there no possible way to log-in on startup, or does it ask to identify yourself for security reasons?

You will have to identify every time you log in.
and the command is /join #ubuntu note the space :)
