View Full Version : [ubuntu] Network Interruptions

May 14th, 2008, 02:11 PM

Im using ubuntu as a file sharing type of server. Several Windows computers then access files to this server (mostly ms access database tables).

I am constantly experiencing network interruptions. It doesn't happen with all the pc's at the same time, but rather say one pc at a time. Access then has to be closed and reopened again for it to work again.

Is there any exploration to this or any way i can fix it? Please help me on this one.

Thank you in advance..

Not sure I can help but....
If ONLY ONE PC is connected to M$ Access tables, does it drop out? I'm guessing - not!

I haven't seen it drop out while only 1 is connected but that is quite hard to test atm. It did disconnect while only about 4 PC's were connected to it though. Access shouldn't have much of a problem with so little connections.

The funny thing is it didn't do it when we still had Windows on the server...it's only been doing it since Ubuntu was loaded on the server :\
