ok, i'm using Ubuntu Hardy from Wubi. In firefox, the flash was not working when i first installed. after installing the plugins, it works... sort of. any flash on a webpage starts out as a grey rectangle, which i must click to activate the flash. even then, the flash many times does not run, or, on sites such as youtube the video is very glitchy. i tried installing the other plugins, as well as the flash plugins for ubuntu itself, but either wind up with the same problem or the flash is not present at all. any suggestions?

wrong flash installed, remove swfdec or gnash and use only adobe flash, install the » flashplugin-nonfree « package.

i don't have either of those installed, but i had a Gstreamer pack installed, which i removed to no avail...
i noticed that in firefox, under plugins, i have 2 shockwave flash, one is r100, the other is r124.
i have no idea what this means but when i have neither on, it says i am missing flash. when i have only r124 on it shows no flash and doesn't display the message, and when i have either only r100 on or both on it causes the error above. is there another flash player plugin, perhaps?
