Okie-dokie, I am hoping there is someone out there who can help with this or at least point me in the right direction.

I am trying to run the X-wing games (any of them, X-wing, Tie-fighter, XW alliance). I have tried running the .exe file from wine. My bro has told me that it should work...but perhaps I am doing something wrong.

Any help??....

umm DOS games? you need DOSBox for these, not Wine.

The games I have are the ones that are compatible with windows,...so I assumed that they would run on wine.

I know that the original X-wing flight sim ran off DOS- but these are the ones that come on CD's. =)

do a search here: http://appdb.winehq.org/. these games are said to work, albeit not perfectly. try running them with Wine from the terminal and check for errors.
