Hello,

I am trying to install Ubuntu on a system using a hardware Raid adapter (Highpoint RocketRaid 100) and 2x 120gb hard drives in a hardware raid 1 configuration.

I currently have 2 30gb windows partitions on the setup, and want to install ubuntu on the last available 40gb. However, when I get to the partition manager, Ubuntu is showing me 2 hard drives, each with the 2 windows partitions. It wants me to set up a software raid, and ignore the hardware raid adapter.

This is the first time that I have ever seen an operating system see through a hardware raid adapter, and want to manage the drive partitioning/raid. Windows only saw 1 drive like it should, FreeBSD, RedHat and CentOS only saw 1 drive like it should (I used to use FreeBSD on this box, as well as RedHat/CentOS).

What can I do to get Ubuntu to install, making use of the hardware raid like a good OS should?
