Hello all,

As I'm always up for trying something new, I installed KDE4 on my ubuntu 8.04 PC. However, now the boot screen comes up saying kubuntu instead of ubuntu. I now that this is only a vanity issue, but I would rather it was the ubuntu boot screen. How do you change it back without removing KDE4?

My review of KDE4 - oh my god they broke KDE :( I still want it on my system as I do still love my KDE apps (amarok, kaffeine, k3b, kdevelop - all better than their gnome equivalents)

Cheers

Hi, install startupmanager
sudo apt-get install startupmanager and after installation go "System>Administration>Startup Manager". It's an application that lets you configure startup options, there you can select the usplash theme you need.

Do sudo apt-get install startup-manager

and you can use that to change all the startup settings
