Sound problems with Firefox

Hey guys, Firefox loses audio quite a bit
it did it even when used ver 2 with gutsy
it'll work great for a while and just quit
no sound from anything
even if i didn't close firefox and left it open all day
my audio works on everything else, just not on firefox
i even installed ver 2 to see if that would work
before, i would just restart the computer (restarting firefox never worked)
and it would work fine, but not now

what gives?

lbarnes, I never saw this problem yet before... As I consider, Firefox itself doesn't make sound, but it has plugins attached to any other applications. For example, can U run flash and Java pages nicely?? Go to Edit > Preferences > Programs and tell us which programs are associated to sound.
