quick wifi question

i have my laptop placed right next to my wireless router. i usually use the wired connection but sometimes that doesnt work and i use the wireless. i heard that it's bad to have your laptop that close to the wireless router and use wifi because the signal strength is related exponentially and i could be getting too strong a signal that may damage the wifi or the laptop. is this true? sorry if i totally didnt word this right.

it shouldnt damage anything. i do it a lot and i've never had any problems.

I'm no expert on the subject, but I don't believe you can do damage to your wireless card by having it too close to your wireless router.
