Serval Perfornance and external speakers

Just wondering: When I'm at home I have a set of external speakers that I use with my Serval Performance laptop but it seems as if the laptop sometimes does not recognize the external speakers - the music comes out of both the internal and external speakers. I have to unplug and re-plug in the speakers to stop the internal ones. Any ideas or suggestions? It's not a major issue - just annoying.

There is a possibility that your plug is a little worn and is not making good connection inside of the socket. This might cause the 'jack-sense' to fail.
