Over the past two and a half months, some friends of mine, led by me, have managed to successfully recreate macbuntu, with no bugs, and high stability. Some problems of Ubuntu were also fixed, namely Advanced Power Management (APM) in laptops, as well as screen resolution rendering as well as others. The new operating system is very stable, possibly more so than Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. The problem that is currently surfacing is porting it; that is, making it available as a distrobution.

I wanted to know if there was any simple way to make it so that the entire thing could be put onto a DVD. And if so, how would I go about doing that? I have limited resources, and almost no funding. I did manage to purchase a domain name, and have it redirect to a rudimentary webpage, which unfortunately was built using a site builder. If possible, I would like to raise funds so that i can host a website that runs Ruby on Rails, which requires special webhosts (which I have already found).

The website for Macbuntu is http://epicfailguy.org . There is a paypal button for you to donate to me (any and all donations are appreciated, I'm only a high school student!). There is also a developer signup form, which would help me get into contact with you if you are interested in helping. We are really in need of people with solid understanding of computers and operating system, as well as a verbose knowledge of BASH. I'm the only programmer on the team, and I only have a loose knowledge of BASH, C, and C++ . I have a very comprehensive knowledge of Ruby and Ruby on Rails.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you are able to provide. All donations will be considered investments unless specifically designated as not to by the donator, and will be followed up. We will accept feedback, as soon as a form is available on the website.

Feedback at: contact@epicfailguy.org

Good Day.

Sounds really good...

So it'll be like OSX but linux?

I have no idea how to "slipstream" it, but have you asked on other forums(maybe the debian one) or approached a linux developer directly?

I do have some 1&1 paid hosting which I use and I could offer you some space on that or something, but thats php/mysql. You'll really need to let people try the OS (ie. sort out your install) before anyything can happen ;)

Good Luck :guitar:
