Hi everybody,

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to get Warcraft 2 running on my G3 iMac PPC. From what I've learned so far, I need WINE to run Warcraft, but cannot get WINE on a PPC. Am I just out of luck?

Thanks!!

AFAIK it is not possible to run a program that was designed for the x86 architecture to run on the PowerPC.

You could possibly use an emulator like bochs (should be installable via synaptic).

I haven't got my Warcraft 2 CD out for at least a decade, however it should run under DOS (without needing to install Windows, which would take ages to install under bochs).

Not sure how well it would perform - your cooling fans might be busy. Let me know how you go - I might try this too ;-)

I would think trying to emulate the environment would be really slow.

Has anyone tried darwine or Qemu? These are both talked about in the PowerPCFAQ (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerPCFAQ#head-9657b42a584e318c38ab749426ba30515a539ac6)
