View Full Version : Mouse issues

Hardy is my first install of linux and I'm pretty excited. For a long time the only reason I kept windows around was to play games. I recently had an install of windows go bonkers on me, and a friend from WoW told me about Wine etc, and so I decided to give it a go. I have everything working great, but I do have a couple of small issues, and I was wondering if there were any fixes for them. I primarily play World of Warcraft, and all these questions apply to WoW.

Firstly, the mouse feels very "floaty". I have tried 3 different mice and they all behave the same. Movements just don't feel as sharp in game as they do when I'm mousing around the desktop or other applications, I even have the mouse sensitivity turned all the way down in game.

Secondly, binding functions to the side buttons of my mouse ingame. My logitec mouse has 2 side buttons. I have been able to get the scroll wheel (mine goes forward, backward, and clicks left right and down) to work properly, but not the buttons on the side. The side buttons perform marvelously when navigating forward and backward on webpages, but I can't seem to get them to bind to anything in game, but they did work great on XP.

Thirdly, I'm sure this question is played out, but I have done some research and it seems that Ventrilo push to talk keys don't work. I would love to use Teamspeak (I would love to support native software), however, the people that I play with use Ventrilo. Is there ANY fix for this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I too have a logitech mouse with two side buttons, and the following thread helped greatly. Notice my solution wasn't exactly the same as the original posters, but hopefully that thread will help :)
