Running the latest Ubuntu Hardy on my iMac, when I use the volume control applet with my mouse, the left audio channel randomly mutes and/or changes level on the master.
Using the volume-control to lock/balance the master again doesn't work. It refuses to lock/balance them.
Alsamixer to the rescue! I just use the -B- key to balance them and so far, alsamixer is the most reliable way to keep this weird left-channel mute from happening until I track down more...
