View Full Version : [ubuntu] brand new ralink 2870usb drivers, perfect install but no connection

Hi, I have an usb wifi dongle with the ralink 2870 chipset.
I downloaded the new driver (2008_0506_RT2870_Linux_STA_v1.3.0.0). This one is compatible with the hardy's kernel.
I was able to compile it without problems, simply following the readme file.
I installed the module (rt2870sta.ko) and modified /etc/modules to load it at startup.
The network-manager didn't work with this driver, so I installed wicd.
Now I see my wifi network, but I'm unable to connect.
Wicd tries to get a valid ip address, but it never ends.
If I set a static ip, wicd tells me that everything is ok, but there isn't a connection.
I did something wrong?
