avi to dvd again...

hello,
ive just joined the ubuntu revolution and i want to convert avi to dvd. im sure its been asked a thousand times (i did try to search for it) but what programs can i use? ive tried using convert x to dvd through wine but it doesnt burn the dvd!
any help?

im trying devede at the moment and its running very slow, is this normal? im using an amd sempron 3200 and 2 megs of ram.
is there anything faster than devede?
