View Full Version : [ubuntu] Can not browse XP shares

Hi all. I am unable to browse the shared folder I have on my networked XP media center machine.

If I go to places:network, I see my 'windows network'. I can double click on 'windows network' and I see my lan. I can double click on my lan and see my media-center pc. This is where the fun stops for me. I can double click on my media-center, but I can not see the shares.

I can ping my media-center just fine using the network tools.

Soooo, how can a fella go about seeing his shared folders and files on a networked pc?

For what it's worth, I can go to places:connect to server and then choose 'windows share'. For the server I enter 'media-center'. For folder I enter 'music' and click ok. The media center doesn't ask me for user name or password and just opens right up to my music shared folder. Great, but I'd like to be able to access it easy like from my network just by double clicking.

As a side note, my eeePC works just dandy finding and accessing my media-center. So I'm thinking it's something with Hardy.

Thanks!

Have a great day!

Jackie
