I'm running Hardy on a PowerBook with an ATI Radeon 9600 using the ati driver. When I hit F1 and F2 to adjust the brightness, the brightness adjustment scale shows up on the screen, but the backlight doesn't actually change. Is there any way to fix this? It worked fine under Feisty and Gutsy.
Not sure if this is related, but when I try to use a virtual terminal, black horizontal lines appear across the screen, which then gradually changes to all white with a purple patch. I can still Ctrl-Alt-Multi-F7 and get my session back with no trouble. The same effect happens when I shut down, though the screen turns off when the computer shuts down. I can post a picture of the screen if this would be helpful.
