I need to replace my scanner, and I would like to know a recommendation from someone who has has a positive personal experience.
I need something that has a document feeder, and preferably network connectivity. What I need to do is scan lots of text documents from 1 to about 20 pages in length and generate a PDF. That's it: no fancy graphics, photographs, etc.
As far as I can tell, the SANE project is not progressing, but I have not seen any alternative software for scanning other than Vuescan. The latter is very good at what it does, but seems to be aimed at photographic scanning rather than longer documents.
I also need a colour laser printer, and would happily buy a combined colour laser and scanner if one is available.
I really am looking for positive personal reports rather than having to rely upon compatibility lists, since "compatibility" is sometimes used rather loosely!
