View Full Version : [all variants] Kernel panic after hibernate

I just installed Ubuntu on my laptop. I used network install as it doesn't have a cdrom drive (it's a dell d400). I tried to hibernate it and now when booting I get the following messages:

RAMDISK: ran out of compressed data
invalid compressed format (err=1)
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

How can I fix that? I'd imagine there should be some sort of boot parameter to disable unhibernating and booting normally instead but I can't seem to find it. I can think of a few solutions but they require a CDROM to boot from a Live CD.

TIA,
Greg
