Hi,

I hav e downloaded UBuntu, and when I run the CD checker it says that one file is invalid!.

I have run the checksum process on the ISO file and all shows ok. I have also burned the ISO image to both DVD and CD but still get the same error.....

Help

Pete

We probably need to know what program you used for burning. I suspect there may be issues with it, because everything else seems to be ok.

There is also small chance of hard drive problem, but chance is just too small.

Try burning at a very slow speed.

I'm using Nero, I'll try doing it at a slower speed. Thanks for the prompt replies.

BTW - I have a Netgear MA101 wireless adaptor (revision B) will it work straight away once installed, or will I need to do some mucking about?

Cheers

Hmmmm very strange, I tried one of the CD/R's I burned, it is currently installing, all I have got so far are a few prompts saying the files are different, retry/cancel etc.... Maybe it is my DVD reader that is at fault..... I'll perhaps invest in a DVD cleaner.

If you still get errors try using a different make of disc.

Use CD-r, memorex is nice. On Windows, use InfraRecorder. Burn at slowest speed. Check for errors if possible. Always check download md5sum. Even if all else is ok, do the live cd disc check. If all above is good, then your fine ;] enjoy.
