I have an ATI graphics card and I can't get 3D acceleration working. This means I can't get programs like Tremulous, SuperTux, and other OpenGL programs to work properly (or in some cases no working at all). I've installed the "official" drivers but that didn't help. Compiz is working though. Any suggestions?

I have problems with my ATI graphics card, too. I've got the X1300, and Ubuntu tells me that it is using the Proprietary drivers, and as far as it can tell, they are working properly.
Yet, whenever something loads up that might need hardware acceleration, there is heavy flickering on the screen. Even when I move my windows around rapidly, a little flickering shows up.
Seems to me that the drivers aren't working well - if at all! Is there something up with ATI drivers?
