Weird issue, I’m a noob on Linux so I wanted to see if anyone else has come across this problem.

Running VMware Server on Ubuntu Server 7.10 , using XP machine to access my VM console. I would like to build my VM’s from my XP workstation because the Ubuntu box is in a data center but I cannot get VM to see my local CD drive. In the machines setting I can get it to work from the local Ubuntu server host disk drive, and ISO if I copy it to the server first, but no matter what combination of settings I cannot get it to boot from my XP client disk drive. (But I can access the drive from a Server 2003 virtual machine that is built once it is powered on, just cannot boot to it) Was not sure if there might be a setting in the VMware conf file or something. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks
