ive seen videos on youtube..pple have effects on their taskbars.. like when they click on applications.. or system.. or places...
i was wondering how do i customize the task bar.. like can i make it transparent?!
well i found a thread on the effects, so sorry that i asked here...
but can i make it transparent?!

making transparent is really easy: just right click on tbe taskbar and select properties. Then on the background tab u can choose solid color and set transparency.
I'm not sure what do you mean effects clicking applications, places and system. What kin of effects? Or maybe just a different organization of the menus? For this you can try Sled or Gimmie (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=783575)

lol my bad! i meant when i click on applications the menu that comes down.. can i make that transparent?!

oh i see now
for that I believe you have to use compiz and enable desktop effects. If you haven't done it already install compiconfig-settings-manager from synaptic and adjust the opacity settings in system-preferences-compizconfig settings. It is in the general options -- opacity settings tab
