Before I upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy, I could see my shared directories on the Window Vista system on my network.
Now I cannot see those shares anymore and the Vista system does not see the Hardy system at all.
What can be wrong after the upgrade?
Something wrong with Samba?
Others have same experience?

Got no reply here, but I saw many similar problems with others in the mean time. Pitty there are no solutions now.:(
I learned a valuable lesson today: do not do an upgrade unless you are prepared to lose a lot of functionality!
Next time I will wait several months until others fix the bugs first.

Oh, yes, they can ping each other.
also smbclient wordks from Hardy to Vista.
Only the Nautilus graphical part does not work anymore and that made it just so easy and friendly

thanks

I have a similar problem in not being able to browse Windows shares on Vista using Nautilus. I read on other posts a couple of weekds ago that the GVFS backend had a fault which caused this problem. Since then there have a number of updates but the problem persists.
Anyone have any ideas when a solution will be avaiable?
Thanks
