Sorry if I keep posting, but I guess I wish to improve my laptop badly ... :(

Soon after I enable my compiz, I tried different combinations and found that it slows down my computer a lot. Here is my computer specifications:

1. AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology MK36 (2.0 GHz, 512 KB L2 cache)
2. 14.1" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite LCD
3. ATI Radeon Xpress 1100
4. 80GB HDD
5. DVD Super Multi double layer (supported DVD+R Double Layer/ DVD +/- RW)
6. 512mb ddr2
7. 802.11b/g wireless LAN

Ok, too much information, I guess 1 to 4 and 6 are needed only. Is there any way where I can improve computer speed?

i dont think its a problem with your hardware.... i have more or less the same hardware with a intel centrino 1.7ghz..... and it works pretty well and pretty fast!!

Yeah that should be good enough hardware to run compiz ok. I don't know much about video cards but if that's the one that came stocked on your laptop, going by the other specs it can't be too bad.

I'm on an hp dv2000, just figured out I can run compiz today and it's smooth even when I'm running a playstation emulator on one desktop. It's amazing, I can turn it around and watch from the other side of the cube when I have transparant turned on.

Maybe check and make sure you have your video card configured right. Go to restricted drivers manager and see if it's checked or not. That's what fixed mine.. hah.
