I just installed 8 into an old Presario 6000. It has 512MB Ram and the Ubuntu is on a 300GB HD alongside XP on a 40GB HD. Everything looks normal in XP and also when running Ubuntu off the CD, but when I boot into Ubuntu, right after I type in the password, when it changes screens, I get a tiled screen (in the Heron colors) and then the mouse freezes. Ubuntu was working OK at first, I browsed on the web, installed Flash, ripped 2 CD's into the music player. Then I restarted into XP to check if XP was running right, it was OK, then I rebooted again and entered Ubuntu and this problem started. Please Help!!!
