I've gotten mythtv exactly where I want it. I've had no problems, and everything so far has been pretty straightforward.
However, I wanted to send my friend to my mythbox via the internet + mythweb so she could download a song she's been wanting, but I didn't see any way to actually download the file, rather than just listen to it. (I'm looking for something similar to the way a recorded show can be downloaded). Is there any way to do this?

I've just set up a symlink to my music directory and set it at /music on my mythbox. Not Ideal at all. Does anyone know any easily installable web jukebox software that also lets you download the song?
Again, I was hoping there was a way to set mythweb up to do this. Streaming works great, but it would be really nice to use the mythweb interface to download my music while I am away.
I am starting to teach myself php, but right now I don't know nearly enough to add this function myself.
Any help would be extremely appreciated.

I would like this option as well!
Maybe I will look into it this summer if noone else does it before me :)

You might take a look at Ampache. Instead of using the Mythtv audio jukebox I also installed Ampache for use with my music collection. It uses a web interface, you can local play, stream to your workstation, etc. You can configure the system to allow file downloads.
