Hey all,

I've been reading through tons of forums and I can't figure out how to get the Facebook photo uploader to work in Hardy 64bit. It still says applet not initialized and I have icetea-7 running, other sites seem to work. I was reading that LiveConnect is still being worked on and this affect this applet. Anyone managed to get this to work? I would love to be able to upload photos without switching to Windows all the time.

thx!

I ran into problems with iced tea java too you can try installing a 32 bit browser with sun java follow instructions on this link http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=202537

Too be fair you can still upload photos, you just have to use the "simple uploader" it limits you to one photo at a time. I have yet to get the Java version to work myself.

Hey I just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents on this problem, as I just "solved" it. I also cannot load the java applet, but can only use the simple uploader. I tried it in firefox, and it stalls, and in swiftweasel it keeps telling me that it needs to download the plugin. I compared the about:config java settings between firefox and swiftweasel and they were the same, so that left me stumped and needing to get creative.

What I did was search for a facebook photo uploading extension, which I found: http://www.fireuploader.com/#fupHome

Choose facebook from the dropdown menu, and then enter your username and password. From there you can log in and it presents all your albums as folders. To create a new album simply click the new folder button.

I think this is the easiest workaround for this problem, if not the most elegant, but it requires no java fixing or anything complicated.
