I have Hoary installed on my comp, and I went and installed Linux versions of Railroad Tycoon 2 Gold and Sim City 3000.... But whenever I load them... I go back to the desktop... WHY?!?! When I load Railroad Tycoon, it says:

Warning: unable to open audio: couldn't open audio device or esd connection
program error: error reading data
video memory protecting
video memory protecting

then my mouse gets all weird and i have to hit enter a few times to get everything back to normal....

then when I try and load Sim City 3000....it says:

sc3u: relocation error: sc3u symbol _dl_global_scope, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file ld-linux.so.2 with link time reference

What does that mean? How come these games can only be booted under root terminal? Why can't there be a shortcut on the desktop for me to just run from there? Why is linux so hard to use? I'm a total noob to linux, and I want to make the jump from windows to it... but this is not helping....
