i installed 7.10 about 3 or 4 weeks ago and it is not detecting my linksys wireless-g USB network adapter with speedbooster (it works with windows but not ubuntu) so i cant update by the internet. im afraid to uninstal 7.10 and re-install as 8.04. is there any way i can update using my 8.04 live CD that my friend burnt for me?

also if anyone can give me directions to get my internet card working i would appreciate that A TON!

by the way, i cant connect by ethernet to upgrade because:

1. my computer is in another room
and 2. because i cant put it in the home office (my moms boyfriend works at home for a company so he needs his office)

can anyone help please?

You can't update from a live CD, though you can re-install from scratch. Sorry.

However, you can do offline upgrades (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading) using the alternate CD's (directions at bottom).
