I'm stumped on this one and would appreciate any input.
I can't get automatic transcoding to work in mythtv. Ideally, I'd like to transcode my mpeg2 encoded video to mpeg4 after they sit around for more than two days to save disk space, but myth never queues up transcode jobs, even if I set it to transcode immediately after recording.
My setup is basic: one machine running both front and backend using mythbuntu 8.04. If I tell myth to transcode a program from either mythweb or from the frontend gui, it does it with no problem. Autodetect correctly uses the "medium quality" settings, and so on. There doesn't seem to be any trouble doing the transcoding, but nothing I change can get myth to start transcode jobs automatically.
I'd even appreciate a list of all the setting effecting this so I can double check! Thanks!
