Hello all, I just had a few questions. The first thing I was wondering was where I can find a good tutorial for Glade. I have googled it in various forms and have found minimal documentation on how to actually use it. All I've found are some esoteric API docs and some tutorials for the old GTK 1 stuff. Maybe I'm just looking wrong but none of the info seemed very helpful. Another question: The version of Glade I got from the repos claims to be 3.4. However, the official Glade site says the current release is 3.0. What happened there? Thirdly, is it easier to use the Glade designer or just hand edit the glade xml file? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. The only good tutorial that I found was in pt_BR, and its called "Mantendo a sanidade com o Glade".

You want to use Glade with what language? Despite the language, you will probably use libglade to load the widgets from the xml generated by glade, and them manipulate it with the standard GTK API.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that I will be doing my coding in Python. Unfortunately, I do not speak Portuguese, which is a bummer because I was looking through the tutorial and it looked to be pretty good. I am more looking for a tutorial on the Interface Designer side, eg. how to different interfaces. For example, I was interested in creating a GUI that would allow the user to 'write' on a window, and was wondering what kind of object would be used for such a task.

Thanks for the links. Does anyone know why Glade 3.4 is in the repos when they are only supposed to be up to 3.0? Is this a fluke?

libglade != Glade User Interface Builder

glade homepage: http://glade.gnome.org/

Any tutorial that uses Glade2 will also work with Glade3 (the differences are not that great).

What gives you that idea? The latest version of Glade is 3.4.5: http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/glade3/3.4/

Surpassed! I stand corrected. Post amended.
