I just got a 530N and will probably do a clean install of Hardy. However, I wanted to burn the ISO they include on the desktop just to have, since LinDVD is factory installed. But is it included on the ISO provided? I know the downloadable ISO's from Dell do not have it, because LinDVD is not free. I just figure that, since I paid for it (in effect--it's part of the price), I ought to be able to keep it somehow. At any rate, the ISO is 4.9 GB, and a DVD-R is only 4.7 GB . . . where under the Light do you find 4.9 GB DVD-R's?

The ISO on the desktop requires a dual layer DVD to burn it off. It should contain LinDVD. It essentially is a burnable copy of the reinstalltion parition.

Hi,

A possible alternative is download a Dell ISO (sans LinDVD) and then download the LinDVD package. See this post on
dellcommunity .com (http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=sw_linux&message.id=13547&query.id=73618#M13547)

Thanks, I might give that a shot.

Is there any way to download the ISO through BitTorrent? I don't really want to do the 4.3 GB download all in one go.
