Can I upgrade from the CD?

I've got a combo frontend/backend happily running on Mythbuntu 7.10. I am considering upgrading to 8.04. I downloaded the ISO (just so I could have it, at the time anyway) and was wondering if there is a way to use the CD to upgrade. Sometimes my DSL is a little flaky, so I thought since I already have the ISO, maybe that would be a better way.

Alternatively, if I were to go for a clean install, what would I need to back up from my current install to insure the easiest transition to 8.04?

Hi,

CD based upgrades can only happen if you have an alternate CD to upgrade from.

Your best bet is to just use update-manager. If your internet flakes out, all the stuff downloaded is still there, just pick the update process back up. Everything downloads before anything installs.
